DTC is a family-owned business that was founded in 1980 by Mr. Satyanarayan Jalan, when he took over a century-old mining company in Jharkhand. DTC expanded its operations, increasing its presence in the mining business and also started exporting. In the 1990s, the company entered the international market, successfully starting its export operations.
